1/29/18 - Reading "The Sound Effects Bible"

Today's reading was all about "Sound Recording Commandment" #9.  Basically, always be prepared.  Bring extra tapes, bring extra batteries, whatever you need for the shoot, no matter what kind of shoot or what your position is, always be prepared for things to not go as planned.  Anyone who works long enough in filmmaking will become well acquainted with Murphy's Law, and I'm very aware of the chaos that comes with production.  I think I'm pretty good when I'm preparing for a major scene, but sometimes I slack when it's a smaller insert or something.  Overall I'd say I'm pretty good, but it's a good lesson to continually remind oneself to check and prepare often: the week before, the day before, the day of, throughout the day, etc.
